Occupational Information
What can I do with this major?
This major is designed primarily for pre-healthcare professionals desiring to augment clinical skills with business acumen.
This degree will give a student greater knowledge of management for the purpose of starting a practice, becoming a healthcare leader, or gaining a better understanding of healthcare as a
business prior to entering graduate or post-graduate studies.
Additional Training Required?
Since this major is designed for students who are aspiring doctoral candidates in the medical field, generally students will go
on to earn a doctorate in their medical field of choice. If a student should choose not to go on to graduate school, employment
opportunities may still exist in the field of healthcare management. If a student does not go on to medical school, a master’s
degree would greatly enhance their business learning and skills,
making them more marketable in the business world.
