Occupational Information What can I do with this major? This major is designed primarily for pre-healthcare professionals desiring to augment clinical skills with business acumen. This degree will give a student greater knowledge of management for the purpose of starting a practice, becoming a healthcare leader, or gaining a better understanding of healthcare as a business prior to entering graduate or post-graduate studies. Additional Training Required? Since this major is designed for students who are aspiring doctoral candidates in the medical field, generally students will go on to earn a doctorate in their medical field of choice. If a student should choose not to go on to graduate school, employment opportunities may still exist in the field of healthcare management. If a student does not go on to medical school, a master’s degree would greatly enhance their business learning and skills, making them more marketable in the business world.
