Make sure your child eats breakfast each morning of the test. Help your child select a healthy breakfast. Success starts with good attendance. Please make an extra effort to arrive to school on time each day for testing. Once testing begins, students will not be permitted in the testing room, and they will make up the test another time. Encourage your child to listen to all of the directions given by the teach or staff member and ask questions about anything that is unclear. Help your child maintain a positive attitude during the testing periods. • The most important message you can tell your child is to simply relax and to put forth their best effort! The tests are not timed so they • should feel at ease. Literacy Night: 4:30-6:30 PM Monday- 4/25/16 and Tuesday- 4/26/16 Thursday- 4/28/16 Student Council Spirit Day- Green & White Day Friday- 4/29/16 Math By: Miss Yates As we get more and more comfortable with fractions, we are beginning to look at how we can transfer from fractions to decimals. We compared the way that we find equivalent fractions to the way that we can find equivalent denominators. We are also spending some extra time preparing for the math PSSAs by finishing up our practice packets and reviewing concepts from earlier in the year. We continue to work towards fact fluency by working on mad minutes and Moby Max practice problems! We spend time in class working on Moby Max to help rack up minutes for our Moby Max challenge of the month, April All Stars! We just wanted to again say how impressive their choice of experiments were, and how proud we were of them. Our congratulations to all of those students who took part! In class this week we continued to look at information on weathering, erosion and deposition, and also where our drinking water actually comes from. We have been working on power points and have just begun to use our listening and speaking skills learned to present our information to the class. The goal is to have the students be able to read non-fiction materials and pick out the important information. We are looking forward to learning more information about glaciers next week.
