JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical and administrative functions to Oracle Databases.
Administrate all upgrades/patches to the Banner (AIMS) system module and maintain version
upgrades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manage the Oracle (SCT Databases and the District’s in-house
conversions databases) Data Bases/Tables.

3. Manage and maintain processes using UNIX as operating system
platform.

4. Provide technical hardware/software assistance to users.

7. Upgrade “AIMS” Banner System Module versions.

8. Fine tune system performance on UNIX based operating systems.

9. Participate on the Banner Project Management Team. The Banner
project will include implementation of the following modules; Student
System, Financial Aid System, Financial Accounting, Purchasing
system and Human Resources System.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree
EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Skills/Abilities: Skill set criteria includes Oracle 7, 8 & 9 on various Unix and
Windows platforms. Knowledge of Oracle Application Server (OAS) and Oracle
9iAS. Performance tools on Oracle.
2. Equipment Used: Personal computer , DEC ALPHA 4000/4100 Servers, COMPAQ
350/370 Servers (Proliant)
3. Software Used: SQL using Oracle 7, 8 & 9 on Unix and Windows servers. Shell
scripts on Unix and Windows. Oracle Forms Developer Server and Reports Server.
A variety of word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.
4. Additional: Maintain and improve individual proficiency in technical skills and
application knowledge.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle
materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to
long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. Heavy weekend work required.
On-call required.

motivating people are important to the highest degree due to constant interaction with
other people, at any level within the organization or the community, position’s
accountability for the development, motivation, assessment, and reward of employees,

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional
distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some
disagreeable elements.
