Job Summary: Assist in the connectivity and coordination of the District’s voice and data
systems primarily through wiring and installation of telephone equipment.

1. Assist in the connectivity of voice/data wiring throughout the District.
Responsible for the maintenance, installation, and wiring of the District’s
phone system.

2. Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving of cables and connections.

3. Assist in the coordination of the District audix voice mail system. Provide
user with instructions on telephone features.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Specialized Trade, Vocational, or Business School or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) Years
CERTIFICATION, RATING, OR LICENSE: Within six months of employment obtain

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to understand different communication wiring and connectors.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Familiarity and ability to use a variety of tools and equipment associated with
wiring of communication and data lines.
2. Equipment Used: Tools and equipment associated with various communication and
data systems.
3. Software Used: Software associated with various communication systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties performed causes fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of
standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. Duties require continuous effort in working with
moderate to heavy (10 to 50lbs and, on occasion, over 50 lbs) materials producing
moderate body fatigue.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Courtesy, tact, and effectiveness in order to communicate with fellow workers,
supervisors, and other members of the organization to request or transmit information,
ask questions, get clarification, and exercise tact.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed with moderate exposure to various disagreeable elements. Work may
involve exposure to dust, fumes, and/or smoke, some soiling of hands and clothes, or
lack of uniformity in heating and cooling. May also include occasional outdoor work with
some exposure to poor weather conditions.
