POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: CD, Customized Training Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional D JOB SUMMARY: Consult, assess, design, implement and evaluate specialized and customized training needs, programs/courses, methodologies, and contract training at district-wide level. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Consult and participate with top and middle management, business and industry representatives to develop customized training programs. Assess local, inter/intrastate and international training needs; plan, design, schedule, implement, and evaluate customized training courses/program. YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 2. Market customized training courses/programs to business, industry and government agencies; negotiate and contract for services with business and industry executive level management representatives. Provide leadership in the formulation of strategic partnerships between companies and the District for the purpose of providing training and retraining of employees to enhance the community’s economic development. 15% 3. Identify, interview, recruit, train, and supervise qualified instructors and/or consultants; design training program and/or instructional materials, as necessary. 10% 4. Prepare, implement, administer, and evaluate individuals programs and related budgets. Develop program curricula in concert with instructors. Prepare, maintain, and administer respective program budgets. Responsible for compiling data and maintaining records as required by the District or grant-sponsoring organization, including the preparation and submission of all monitoring and quality assurance reports. 15% 5. Provide personnel management and direction to administrative support staff assigned, including orientation, training, performance appraisal, coaching and professional development. 20% 6. Identify necessary equipment, instructional materials and supplies for customized training courses/programs; negotiate contracts and coordinate vendor purchases. 5% 7. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
