POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Workforce Development Compliance Coordinator CATEGORY: Professional FLSA STATUS: Exempt GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for oversight and guidance in monitoring financial contracts and grants activities to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and reporting requirements related to funding source. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Plan, develop, and implement systems and/or processes through the departmental staff, for monitoring Workforce Development activities to ensure compliance with internal, state, federal, and funding regulations, reporting deadlines, and District policies and procedures. YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 25% 2. Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting a variety of documents and periodic reports related to the Workforce Development funding sources. Coordinate the collection of data required for reports to outside authorities including federal and state agencies, local granting agencies, etc. Responsible for planning, developing, preparing, and submitting district-wide schedule to produce accurate and timely reporting on a monthly basis. 25% 3. Responsible for the formulation, planning, and coordination of detailed year-end closing activities related to funding source. Coordinate preparations for audits by internal/external auditors and formulates response when required. 20% 4. Consult and participate with management, business and industry representatives, and Customized Training Coordinators in the development of customized training programs. Work with Customized Training Coordinators to market customized training courses/programs to business, industry and government agencies; negotiate and contract for services with business and industry executive level management representatives. Provide leadership in the formulation of strategic partnerships between companies and the District for the purpose of providing training and retraining of employees to enhance the community’s economic development. 20% 5. Act as liaison for EPCC instructional departments providing feedback as appropriate. 10% Effective: 9/1/04 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Associate Vice President, Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years experience SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Excellent reading, writing, listening and speaking skills; high level analytic skills and ability to accomplish professional research. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
