We work with our customers to provide an authentic experience that results in as simple or as intricate a system as desired. The system is designed to provide command and monitoring information in real-time, as well as historical information on the status of the airfield lighting. The communication is a redundant network system that uses two highly reliable independent communication networks for fast, reliable data transmissions. The sophisticated monitoring capabilities indicate when system monitored airfield elements are out of compliance. This results in a high mean time between failures and a system that is easy to maintain and operate. The ALCMS system can control and monitor stop bars, guard lights, individual lamps, general elements and signs. The system can also be designed for CAT I, II and III, offering routing capabilities. Each constant current regulator (CCR) and each controllable element has its own Digitrac™ The Digitrac™ is a microprocessor-based module that includes all communication, command, monitoring, input/output and fail-safe functions. This distributed structure simplifies installation, significantly increases reliability and ease of maintenance. The controllable elements receive the air traffic controller commands via the communications network, execute the commands and report back the status of each controlled element to all control locations. The system communicates in real time allowing airport personnel to be aware of the status of the lights on the airfield at all times. The Digitrac™ also sends the status reports to the ALCMS which stores the historical information. Megatrac™ Insulation Resistance Monitoring The Megatrac™ is a unit that performs insulation resistance monitoring (megger tests the) series circuit, allowing the system to automatically or manually run the the test and report the integrity of the airfield lighting circuit. The ALCMS system is usually designed to communicate via powerline carrier, since power lines can lose insulation quality and the line can degrade over time, we reccommend having the Megatrac system installed inside or near each CCR The Megatrac™ unit helps minimize the possibility of commands being lost because there is too much noise on the circuit by monitoring the circuit integrity. This allow the customer time to prepare and respond to any powerline circuit consistancy problems. Maintenance personnel can access the data throught the ALCMS history and monitor the long term integrity of the airfield circuit. The Lamp Monitoring System (LMS) interacts with the ALCMS to control and monitor a series of lights or each individual light to support independent on, off, or blink control at each lamp. A device installed at each lamp know as the Continous Logitrac Device (CLD) communicates to and receives commands from the ALCMS through a Continous Logitrac™ Adaptor (CLA) typically located in the airfield electrical vault. The ALCMS then is able to receive an alert message when a burnt out lamp or sensor activation occurs and process the system lamp statuses to determine airfield category capability (CAT I, II, III). The failed lamp locator provides the ability to ensure that the airport can meet the low visability requirements for CAT II and CAT III operations. 1 5 0 0 1 9 0 - - Enclosure: 1500190 = Rack Mount Enclosure Logitrac Options: 0 = 0 Logitrac Adapter 1 = 1 Logitrac Adapter 2 = 2 Logitrac Adapter Input Power: A = 120V B = 230V Fiber Logitrac™ Device If the airport is using Fiber optic cabling in addition to power line carrier than an option is the Fiber Logitrac Device (FLD). The FLD communicates via fiber optic lines to provide a faster and more efficient way of controlling and monitoring indiviual lamps. With the FLD you can avoid electromagnetic interference field issues due to low insulation resistance on the series circuit. The FLD does not require a CLA to communicate to the ALCMS system. The FLD has a data communication faster than 1 Mbps ensuring a faster response time that with a standard system The FLD installed at each lamp enables the control and monitoring of one or two lead lamp fixtures when connected between the fixture and isolation transformer (L830/ L831). The FLD is a fully encapsulated device that is IP68 rated to protect against the elements and other damage. The FLD can support fixtures up to 400W each. These computers are much more reliable and have a greater processing power than normal computer. It is important to have a reliable industiral computer to ensure that there are no unexpected and potentially dangerous interruptions to the lights on the airfield. The computers use Intel™ core processors, have the capacity for additional RAM use Windows operating system with ALCMS software and database. All computers also include keyboard and mouse. Mobile computer units are also available to control and monitor the system while out on the airfield. Uninterruptible Power Supplies It is recommend that all computer cabinets have a UPS placed inside. The UPS delivers continuous, high-quality AC power to the computer equipment without a break when switching to a generator. It protects the equipment from virtually all power disturbances due to blackouts, brownouts, surges or noise interference. The UPS is capable of supplying full load power for at least 15 minutes after loss of main input power. The standard UPS sizes offered are 750VA, 1000VA and 2000VA depending on the amount of equipment is being protected by the UPS. Touchscreen Monitors Touchscreen stations are most commonly installed in line with the tower display to allow the air traffic controllers to easily control the airfield lights. Multiple sizes can be installed in multiple locations. Each touchscreen can show the whole ALCMS system or just a particular location of the airfield or area of the ALCMS system. The touchscreens used as part of the ALCMS system are sunlight readable touchscreens making them ideal for use in industrial aviation applications, they also do not have films or active layers so these touchscreens provide a high clarity image of the screen. Touchscreens are available in multiple sizes and can be mounting into a surface or freestanding. LCD Monitors Standard LCD screens are usually installed inside each computer cabinet. The computers in the Vault, Operation or the Maintenace Centers are there to enable the staff to monitor, maintain and pull reports of the ALCMS system. These monitors also can come in various sizes as per the users request. Nema 12 Rated Computer Enclosure Computer subsystem is housed in a Nema 12 rated industrial enclosure. This enclousure provides a degree of protection from dust, dirt, fibers and the water such as dripping water and light splashing. These enclosures can be ordered in various configurations according to the equipment housed inside.
