Network Access Bridge Notification NAB The WAVES Network Access Bridge (NAB) connects the WAVES Integrated Base Station (IBS) with remote WAVES systems for expanded coverage, control and monitoring. Description Often threats encompass multiple, geographically separated regions. To alert people in different regions may require communicating to remote locations. To address this, Cooper Notification enhanced its Mass Notification System (MNS), WAVES (Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System) with Ethernet-enabled Network Access Bridge (NAB). The NAB acts as a bridge between the WAVES Integrated Base Station (IBS) and a satellite WAVES system. NAB enables a single Cooper Notification MNS installation to encompass areas that are beyond the range of a single RF network by creating a dependent RF network at the remote location that is controlled by the main IBS. The NAB is located at the head-end of the remote system and consists of: - Personal computer, running the NAB software (a Windows service) - WAVES audio data unit (ADU) and a base transceiver unit (CRLU-201) - Power supply The NAB computer receives commands and digital streaming audio over an Ethernet connection from the WAVES IBS and forwards those to the satellite system through the appropriate communications controller and transceiver. It also receives status and other reports from the satellite system’s nodes and sends those back to the IBS. Since a NAB is Ethernet-based, it can extend the range of WAVES communications to nodes distributed over a wide area with unlimited distance. Each IBS can support enough NABs to cover virtually any need. Features & Benefits - Unlimited range extension of the WAVES Network - Fully customizable - Easy relocation with minimal disruption - Easily expandable Applications - Regional Alerting - Wide-Area Mass Notification - Mass Notification (Indoor and Outdoor) from remote location - Community Alerting/ Public Warning - Industrial Disaster Alerting/Relief - Natural Disaster Alerting/Relief - Personnel Alerting Specifications Electrial AC input: Power Consumption: 110-240 VAC 50-60Hz 125W Uninterruptible power supply optional Environmental Operating Temperatures: Storage Temperatures: Humidity, NonCondensing: 0oC to +60oC -20oC to +60oC 0 to 95% Physical (Main Unit) Height: 7” (20.3 cm) Width: 17” (43 cm) Depth: 22” (62.5 cm) Weight: 34lbs (15 kg) Network Requirements IT Requirements: Type of Network Address: Bandwidth: WAVES depends on Microsoft Message Queuing and Microsoft .Net Remoting.
