Integrated Base Station Notification IBS-3004 Description The WAVES Integrated Base Station provides the user with sophisticated central control capabilities with an easy-to-use, GIS-based Graphical User Interface (GUI). WAVES (Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System) Integrated Base Station (IBS) is a sophisticated central control system that is designed to alert, warn and inform people of what to do before, during and after an emergency or disaster. The IBS can operate as a stand-alone system or be integrated with other command and control or computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems for improved situational awareness. The system can also be integrated with other life safety and security systems, including fire panels, access control, intrusion detection, weather sensors, telephone and text alerting as well as Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) detection systems. The IBS issues commands and provides data messages to WAVES transceivers (TRX401). It transmits emergency announcements as pre-recorded or live (microphone) messages to any individual or group of audible devices. It can also send commands to activate visual notification appliances. The IBS continuously monitors the status of all transceivers. The IBS can be field-programmed by a system administrator to execute pre-scripted, automated responses to user input, commands from C2 systems or WAVES network events. Such responses include playing of pre-recorded audible messages, activation of text messages, strobes as well as sending messages to other connected systems. The base transceiver transmits two channels of audio programming, RS-232 data and control information for distribution within the WAVES system. At the same time, it also receives RS-232 data and network-wide supervisory diagnostics (BIT) reports for subsequent transmission to the central processor. WAVES delivers announcements originating from the IBS via digital Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) radios @ 2.4 GHz. This secure wireless communications network features anti-jamming capabilities and high immunity to interference, eavesdropping and spoofing. It also protects the network in the event of a disaster.
