PEACHTREE CITY, GA, June 2, 2011 – Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE:

named by Builder magazine as the Brand Leader in lighting. Awarded for the thirteenth consecutive year,

understand our customers’ business goals and to develop products that meet their needs. We will
continue to adopt and adapt to the latest advancements in lighting technology to provide the most

Cooper Lighting, which developed the first ENERGY STAR® qualified LED recessed downlight, remains

requires lighting products to advance beyond the incandescent options used today, Cooper aims to help
builders adhere to the changing energy landscape with industry leading technology, variety and service.
The 2011 Brand Use Study, sponsored by Hanley Wood, LLC, publisher of Builder, provides an in-depth
look at the product brands builders recognize and use most and how they rate the brands’ quality. The
report, which is produced by Readex, an independent research company, highlights respondents’
