THE THREE PARTS OF A BATTERY
1. Anode – positively charged terminal
2. Cathode – negatively charged terminal
3. Electrolyte – a solution containing charged ions
• when connected to a circuit, the charged ions will
move towards the cathode and anode
• Electrons build up at the anode and leave the cell,
travelling around the circuit as an electric current 

As the electrolyte is used up the battery
will lose its ability to power circuits
