Budget discussion points
•
•
•
How will the loss of $108,000 in dues impact current and proposed research?
How does this factor into a strategy for SMC hiring?
What would SPI need from SMC in order to maintain their membership?
o Fertilization predictably
o Pruning for owl dispersal habitat
Non- agenda items discussed
•
•
•
Are we at critical point of decision making on growth and resources, should we look at sunsetting
additional plots and segue into more analysis?
How do we as a coop agree on and communicate a shared vision?
Members would like to see the UW offer additional support to the SMC though services, economic
means or time, similar to what OSU provided the newly appointed Vegetation Management Research
Cooperative (VMRC) Director.
An Outreach Committee formed with the task of reaching out to SEFS Director Tom DeLuca and Dean of the
College, Lisa J. Graumlich to increase awareness of support for the SMC. Members include Dave Hamlin,
Gareth Waugh, Scott McLeod, Greg Johnson and Candace Cahill.
