Carl D. and Peggy G. Pursell Scholarship
This scholarship is valued at approximately $300 and may be awarded to multiple applicants. Deadline
for submission is February 12, 2016.
Applicants must meet the follow criteria to be eligible:
v Undergraduate student with a declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences
v Rationale explaining why the applicant has selected their particular major and what they anticipate
the pursuit of this program may contribute to the betterment of society (Maximum of 3 pages)
v Evidence of academic excellence or scholarly/creative expression within their field
v Demonstrated leadership skills through community service or involvement in extracurricular
activities at EMU
v Completed at least 30 credit hours and is enrolled during the current semester for at least 12 credit
hours
v Minimum GPA of 3.0 overall with a 3.4 GPA in major
v Recommendation letter from an EMU faculty member who will provide comment to further
application and highlight achievements
