Dear Resident,
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (Storm Water)
held a public meeting on May 27, 2008 at Hickory Grove
Branch Library for the Wilora Lake Restoration Project.

The meeting discussed the proposed improvements.

Mr. Greg Cole, Project Manager, discussed the
organization of the project team and provided a general
overview of the Storm Water Services Program.
Design details are still being finalized, but the final pond
layout is complete.
The main components of the new pond include:
forebays, wetlands, pond, littoral shelf, dam, pond drain
valve and a maintenance road gate.
The construction sequence is anticipated to start
with removing some trees, then building a small
dam upstream called a coffer dam, draining the

HIGHLIGHTS FROM PUBLIC MEETING
