Muddy/Creek stream restoration project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK June 6, 2008 Dear Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (Storm Water) held a public meeting on May 8, 2008 at Central United Methodist Church for the Muddy Creek Restoration Project. • • The meeting discussed the preliminary construction drawings and real estate acquisitions. Meeting highlights: • • • Mrs. Jennifer Barker, Project Manager, discussed the organization of the project team and provided a general overview of the Storm Water Services Program. She emphasized that community involvement is imperative to the success of the project and the team wanted to hear any concerns. Project History: There were two primary factors that were key to identifying the Muddy Creek Project area as a high-priority water quality project: 1) Very poor water quality and stream stability; and 2) multiple publicly owned properties along both project streams.
