Lyon Court s t o r m d r a i n a g e i m p r o v e m e n t p r o j e c t your storm water fees at work July 2011 Dear Resident: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant, US Infrastructure or USI, continue to work on the planning phase of the Lyon Court Storm Drainage Improvement Project. For more information, please visit our website: http://stormwater.charmeck.org. Click on the Storm Water Projects drop down menu in the green bar, then Active Projects and Lyon Court. The consultant has analyzed the storm drainage system within your neighborhood to determine areas where there are storm water issues and/ or concerns. The consultant is now developing several improvement alternatives that will be evaluated to determine the best solution. Once this is complete, a public meeting will be held with the neighborhood. If you have any questions, please contact Project Manager William Harris at 704-353-1147 or wtharris@charlottenc.gov. Dog Waste Is Raw Sewage Scoop it, bag it and place it in the trash. Mecklenburg County is home to more than 218,000 dogs. They produce over 72,000 pounds of dog waste every day. Pet waste is one of the causes of bacterial contamination of streams in Mecklenburg County. The solution is safe and easy. 1) Scoop the poop. 2) Put it in a plastic bag. 3) Place it in the trash. 4) Wash your hands. We want to reduce our waste stream to landfills whenever possible. Currently, there is no better alternative for disposing of pet waste. For more information, visit http://stormwater.charmeck.org.
