Robinhood/Dooley storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK June 30, 2011 Dear Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held a public meeting on June 1 at Central United Methodist Church for the Robinhood/Dooley Storm Drainage Improvement Project. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the preliminary design presented at the last public meeting (May 2010) and discuss the easement acquisition process. Meeting highlights: • Monica Kruckow, Storm Water Services Project Manager, introduced the project team, provided general project information and briefly reviewed the project scope. Project goals are to reduce flooding in streets and around structures, as well as to reduce erosion and improve water quality through stream restoration. • Will Wilhelm, Project Manager for our design consultant Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., discussed the proposed improvements. • Steve Frey, City Real Estate, discussed working with citizens and businesses to acquire easements needed to construct the recommended improvements and provide future • maintenance. Easements are encouraged to be donated. The City may be requesting any or all of the following easements on properties benefiting from improvements: 1. Storm Drainage Easement 2. Temporary Construction Easement 3. Conservation Easement Property owners are encouraged to read and understand the terms and differences between each of these easements.
