YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK
June 30, 2011
Dear Resident,
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held a public
meeting on June 1 at Central United Methodist Church for the
Robinhood/Dooley Storm Drainage Improvement Project.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the preliminary design
presented at the last public meeting (May 2010) and discuss the
easement acquisition process. Meeting highlights:
• Monica Kruckow, Storm Water Services Project Manager,
introduced the project team, provided general project
information and briefly reviewed the project scope. Project
goals are to reduce flooding in streets and around structures,
as well as to reduce erosion and improve water quality
through stream restoration.
• Will Wilhelm, Project Manager for our design consultant
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., discussed the proposed
improvements.
• Steve Frey, City Real Estate, discussed working with citizens
and businesses to acquire easements needed to construct
the recommended improvements and provide future
•
maintenance. Easements are encouraged to be donated. The
City may be requesting any or all of the following easements
on properties benefiting from improvements:
1. Storm Drainage Easement
2. Temporary Construction Easement
3. Conservation Easement
Property owners are encouraged to read and understand the
terms and differences between each of these easements.
A question and answer session was held.
