Robinhood/Dooley storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK June 3, 2010 Dear Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held a public meeting on May 3 at Cornerstone Baptist Church for the Robinhood/Dooley Storm Drainage Improvement Project. During the meeting proposed improvements for the previously identified existing storm water issues were discussed. Meeting highlights: • Monica Kruckow, Storm Water Services Project Manager, introduced the project team, provided general project information and briefly reviewed the project scope and goals. • Will Wilhelm, Project Manager for our design consultant Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., reviewed the existing drainage conditions in the entire project area and mentioned that the problems will be addressed by maintaining the existing characteristics of the drainage infrastructure. • Mr. Wilhelm also discussed the proposed improvements: o Culverts o Pipe Systems and inlets o Driveway pipes and ditches o Stream channel • • • Ms. Kruckow discussed the project’s next steps which is moving into the design phase and developing the construction drawings for the alternative selected. These plans are to include many details, such as pipe sizes and locations, channel/ditch widths, utility relocations and easement locations. Project updates will be mailed quarterly to keep citizens informed of progress. A question and answer session was held.
