The final deadline for receipt of all
application materials is:
MAY 18 - JUNE 13, 2015
MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2014
Program Fees $2,900
Program fees cover all hotels in China;
in-country transportation from Beijing
to Xi’an to Shanghai; all hotel transfers;
all tours and tour guides; all museum
entrance fees; most breakfasts; a farewell
dinner; Chinese visa ($140); nonrefundable UND Study Abroad
application fee ($50); and UND-required
medical insurance ($50).
Program fees do not include the
following additional costs to students:
summer school tuition (6 credits); travel
to and from China; U.S. passport;
inoculations or other medical costs;
most meals and entertainment in China.
(The fees are based on the 2014 costs and are
subject to change until the trip is booked.)

Study Program 2015
REQUIRED COURSES
ONE SPRING COURSE at UND
TWO SUMMER COURSES in China
This exciting faculty-directed study
abroad program is open to all UND
students regardless of major and offers
an in-depth examination of China, a
region of growing global importance.
With special emphasis on the practical
development of cross-cultural business
skills, the program helps students gain
an in-depth understanding of China, its
language, history, politics, legal system,
customs and culture. Professors Colleen
Berry and Victoria Beard are the
instructors for this program in which
students play an active role in designing
their own fieldwork projects and
itineraries.

All participants must enroll in three
UND courses as follows:
Program ends June 13th in Shanghai
After the program ends, students
may return directly to the US or may
continue traveling independently to
other parts of China, Hong Kong,
Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, India,
and/or Europe.

In addition, students should plan to
purchase their roundtrip air ticket to
China (est. $1400) before the end of
February when rates tend to increase.
Tuition for the two summer courses in
China is payable according to the normal
UND summer sessions tuition and fee
payment schedule.
Students may apply for an increase in
their spring and summer financial aid
package based on increased program
costs. They may also be eligible to apply
for BPA travel grants.
No inoculations are currently required
for travel in China. However, Hepatitis
A and B are highly recommended for
travel in Asia. Please consult with your
doctor early.
