The essentiality of infrastructure in the industrialization process of any nation cannot be over emphasized. This study examines the causes of infrastructure deficiency in Nigeria and its effects on industrial development of the country. Data were collected from secondary sources and relevant literature was reviewed. The study found that; the deficiency of infrastructure was caused by corruption, mismanagement, lack of focus by government officials, inadequate investment and lack of coordinated policy towards infrastructural development. It was also found that, the deficient infrastructure condition made the environment unfriendly and unconducive for local businesses and foreign investors, as a result of high cost of operation. The study also recommended that government should intensify its war against corruption and redirect its commitment towards provision of quality infrastructure is among the recommendation of this study.
