Peter Banthorpe fia Head of Biometric Research, Global Research and Development RGA UK Services Limited Peter Banthorpe is the London, U.K.-based Head of Biometric Research for the Global Research and Development unit of RGA Reinsurance Company, a role he has held since April 2014. Previously, Peter was Head of Actuarial Research for RGA UK Services Limited. RGA’s Biometric research team produces research into past, current and future drivers of mortality and morbidity to support all of RGA’s product lines worldwide. In particular, the team focuses on risk factor analysis to support both pricing and underwriting functions, Prior to joining RGA in 2010, Peter was Head of Pricing and Reinsurance for Ageas Protect (formerly Fortis). He was one of its first employees, a member of its senior management team, and led the development of its actuarial, management information and reinsurance capabilities from initial creation until several years after its launch. Before then, Peter held various pricing and new business roles for Munich Re’s UK Life Branch. Peter is a graduate of Cambridge University and qualified as an actuary in 2003. He is a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ (IFoA) CMI Executive Committee, a Director of CMI Limited, and chairs the IFoA’s Mortality Research Steering Committee. He previously chaired IFoA working parties on Critical Illness pricing and Genetics, and is a current member of the joint Life & Longevity Markets Association (LLMA)/IFoA working party on longevity basis risk.
