Learners’ statement on curricular learning
This year I have swept up several awards in my learning. I was given two awards for Level
D Maths and Level E Reading. I was very proud of my achievements in these areas. I’ve
always been proud of my ability to pass things first go or second try, writing not so much
though. I’ve always been passing levels pretty quickly.
I feel that Maths is my strongest area and I know that I can use my skills in maths to help me
in other subjects, for example when we made a 3D structure in context work I was able to
use my knowledge of 3D shapes and strong triangles.
I think that I am an ideas man and I am able to bring lots of ideas to group tasks. I
sometimes take the lead role in group challenges.
I am more confident presenting comparative studies to the class plus being able to show
off a tea dance for the public to raise money. I also feel that one of my most successful
pieces of work this year has been writing my auto-biography.
Learners’ statement on personal achievement
This year I have been honoured with the position of House Captain not once but twice. I
have lead them to victory with my passion to win. I feel that this role has made me much
more confident to believe in myself. I am not a very organised person but this role made
me much better at it.
I have been a Squaddy meaning that I have had to organise games and activities for
younger children in the playground at playtime and lunch time. I have shown myself to be
a very responsible individual in this role.
This year we went to Dalguise and it was awesome! But sadly we only got to go for four
days. I had no fears apart from one which was that I was frightened in case I couldn’t do
everything. Thankfully I did everything and my fears didn’t come true.
I am taught to play the guitar at school by my tutor. After the first time I set eyes on a
guitar I wanted to play it and now I can.

Teacher’s Comment
I can use different punctuation in my writing and also use
paragraphs to make my writing more interesting. I am more
confident when reading different text and when reading to
an audience I can use expression.
I can use fractions and percentages when trying to solve
problems. I can identify different angles and link them to the
outside world.
I have had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles which
has helped develop my skills. I have been able to identify the
areas I need to work on for the future. I know that all forms of
abuse are not tolerated and know where to get help if I need
it.
I have participated in many assemblies and other
performance for our contexts. I have really enjoyed being
part of this and it has helped me gain more confidence in
front of an audience. I feel that I work well as part of a team
as I am able to communicate with different people and share
my ideas.
Through religious observance I have learned about different
values such as fairness, equality and love, caring, sharing and
human rights. I am aware that people have different beliefs
and opinions.
I have learned about the planets in the solar system and their
properties. I am looking forward to using this knowledge when
I go to high school.
I know that we live in a democracy and understand my rights
and responsibilities as a Scottish citizen. I have learned about
past events through our context and this has helped me
understand the way our society is today.
I can use the internet effectively by using different search
engines to get information for projects. I can put the
information into my own words to be presented and
understand the importance of this. I have been part of group
challenges in maths using a variety of measuring instruments
and units
During my time at
