Gallagher has 26 years of experience in biotechnology with an emphasis on instrumentation and applications development. He has held executive management positions at Hoefer Scientific Instruments, Pharmacia Biotech, Motorola, Ionian Technologies and UVP. Graduating from Claremont McKenna College in 1979 with a BA in Biology, Dr. Gallegher continued his education by earning a PhD in Botany & Plant Science from UC Riverside in 1985 and completed his Plant Science Post-Doc at Stanford in 1987. Dan Herring ’05, Head of Quality Programs Dan is a biotechnology professional with experience across manufacturing, quality, compliance, and global functions for Baxalta, a global healthcare leader. He has led transformative cultural change across division and is currently leading the quality operation for a large-scale monoclonal antibody manufacturing site. Dan graduated with a BA in Biology from Claremont McKenna College and earned a MS in Biotechnology from CSU Channel Islands in 2009. Dr. Mike Mattie ’96, Principal Scientist Dr. Mattie serves as a Principal Scientist for Astellas Pharma in the LA area. He works with oncology drug discovery and development. Some of his other research interests include applications of cutting edge genomics, sequencing technologies and functional genomics. Dr. Mattie graduated with a BA in Biology from Claremont McKenna College. He went on to earn his PhD in Molecular Toxicology from Duke in 2003 with a Post Doc at the Comprehensive Cancer Center in SF. Dr. John Spinosa ’80, Pathologist Dr. Spinosa has a diverse set of experiences in his current role as a Pathologist at Scripps La Jolla. He has been in this role for more than 22 years and has been a leader in diagnostic testing and treatment at the healthcare facility. Dr. Spinosa has served as a Medical Director for the Clinical Lab at Trovagene and the Clinical Lab Medical Director at Veranata Health, both companies with a focus on the analysis of cell free DNA ("liquid biopsies”). Earning his BA in Chemistry from Claremont McKenna College, Dr. Spinosa also obtained a MD and PhD in Molecular Pathology from the University of California - San Diego in 1987 and 1988, respectively.
