PARD Workshop Workshop Title: Business Process Re-engineering (Duration: 1 day) Who should attend? Anybody who is responsible for managing or improving any type of process within their organisation. Prior Knowledge required? None, except a basic proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Who will deliver the workshop? Dr John Keast, University of Warwick. Description of Course: The course will describe the phases of a bottom up process re-engineering (BPR) methodology called the Systematic Techniques for Role and Interaction modelling. It will provide guidance and tools for each of the phases of the methodology including: Conducting and analysing interviews with process participants. Creating and validating Role Activity Diagrams Performing cost and process failures Performing time based analysis and generating project plans Applying process change principles Publishing the new process to a self-contained website Software tools for use with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Project will be made available to participants. NB Participants will have to provide their own Microsoft licenses. However, the methodology taught can be applied without software tools if Office licenses are not available. Objective: To provide a practical methodology and tools for capture, documentation, analysis and re-engineering of any processes within any type of organisation. By the end of the course participants will have enough understanding to begin describing, analysing and improving the processes within their company.
