Areas of Practice
Bruce Leaverton focuses his practice on business finance and restructuring matters, representing
borrowers, secured lenders, debtors, creditors’ committees, bankruptcy trustees, indenture trustees,
and state and federal court receivers. He has considerable experience representing financial
institutions and corporate clients in complex financial bankruptcies, restructurings, recapitalizations,
intellectual property disputes, lender liability litigation, and mergers and acquisitions, both inside
and outside of bankruptcy court. His representation of institutional lenders in distressed secured
loan and workout matters is aided and informed by his considerable experience and understanding of
the other side of the table, based on his representation of various corporate borrowers. His practice
also includes a wide variety of litigation and administrative matters concerning financial and loan
enforcement issues, including inter-creditor disputes and a variety of investigative and enforcement
proceedings by government regulatory agencies. Chambers USA’s Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers
for Business has listed Bruce as a “Leading Lawyer,” describing him as “Ten out of ten. He is a leader
- the conductor of the orchestra. He brings everyone together to draw a resolution.”
