Tourists v locals Tourists v farmers Tourists v tourists Tourist v quarrying Tourist v forestry workers Now make a list of all the conflicts on both sides of the argument. Example Tourists v quarrying Tourists do not like the visual scars left on the landscape . Tourists do not like the noise of lorries transporting goods in and out of the quarry. Lots of dust is created, especially in summer, when tourist numbers are high. Tourists park cars at the side of roads which get in the way of the lorries. Having to get past lots of parked cars holds up the productivity of the quarry and slows traffic on the road. Tourists do not read warning signs and walk over areas of the quarry that they shouldn’t. Remember that each conflict has arguments on both sides.
