Master Gardeners identified plants that were entered in the
Dallas Garden Club’s Flower Show. The scientific name as well
as the common name was determined for each specimen. Our
own Master Gardener Judy Howd won Tri Color Flower award for
her arrangement.

to children from a local daycare. Laurie and her class grow
mealworms for the bluebirds at McGarity Elementary school.

Black Swallowtail caterpillars enjoying the fennel growing in
our flower bed. We found several caterpillars on the fennel and
hope most of them made it to become beautiful Black
Swallowtail Butterflies. Fennell, dill, carrot and milkweed are
feed for these butterflies. Herb gardens are great for attracting
butterflies and supplying food for the caterpillars.
