News Contact: Dayana Jiselle Contreras Djcontreras9@gmail.com 559.278.2656 Ex: 8861 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 3, 2014 “Unity in the Community” Youth Supply Drive (FRESNO, Calif.)- Associated Students Inc., (ASI) hosts a youth supply drive in effort to increase resources for the children of the El Dorado Park community from Tuesday March 4, 2014 through Friday March 21, 2014. El Dorado Park community is known as a vibrant and ethnically diverse community currently experiencing some of the highest rates of poverty in Fresno. ASI is providing the various colleges on campus with a supply box where staff, faculty, and students can donate school supplies, sports equipment, and family board games. Donations of colored pencils, crayons, highlighters, notebooks, basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, and family-friendly board games are highly encouraged. “All the supplies donated will be evenly distributed amongst community programs in the neighborhood including the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado Park which boasts the largest club membership in the entire city of Fresno,” said Ashleigh Rocker, ASI Programs & Volunteer Coordinator. The supplies will be distributed on Saturday March 22, 2014 at the Richter Center’s “Spring into Service” Day event where Fresno State volunteers will come together in servitude to perform beautification projects in the neighborhood.
