Neophyte Committee
Application 2015-2016
The University Student Union (USU) Board of Directors gives students a voice when it comes to
decision-making for the University Student Union (USU) and Satellite Student Union (SSU)
facilities with an annual operating budget of over $2 million dollars. Serving on the USU Board
of Directors are 12-15 student leaders working alongside faculty and administrators from across
campus to help the USU meet the needs of Fresno State students.

Join the USU Board of Directors Neophyte Committee!
Board Neophyte Committee: Will assist the USU Board of Directors members in
planning projects, running events, administrating the annual operating budget,
representing all students on issues affecting the University Student Union (USU) and the
Satellite Student Union (SSU), and by encouraging student involvement and leadership
development.
All students are welcomed and encouraged to join the Board Neophyte Committee. No
experience is necessary, just interest, commitment, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
1. Commit to at least one semester
2. Attend scheduled weekly meetings (Every Monday 3:00p.m.-5:00p.m.)
3. Fulfill one office hour per week
4. Market and promote events for the USU Board of Directors and the USU
5. Brainstorm and help implement projects created by the USU Board of Directors
6. Attend all mandatory USU Board of Directors socials and trainings
Successful candidates should:
1. Be interested in developing leadership skills
2. Be an effective communicator
3. Be organized and comfortable working
independently and in teams
4. Be willing to have Fun!
