A note on Assessed Presentations: Presentations give you the opportunity to present your ideas on a particular topic in a focused and engaging fashion to an interested audience. You should observe the following points: 1. Your presentations should not exceed 15 minutes. 2. They should be communicative and engaging which means that you should use a combination of notes and presentation slides. It is not recommended to only read out the slides, you should provide an additional explanatory commentary. 3. If you give a joint presentation, then you need to work closely with your presentation partner in order to give a unified presentation. One mark will be allocated to joint presentations. 4. Your slideshow must represent the main structure and argument of your presentation: it must contain a title slide with your name and the theme of your presentation and a concluding slide with a bibliography of secondary sources. 5. Each slide should be well-structured: you should attempt to summarise key points and support them with relevant quotations from the text. 6. Quotations should be proof-read to avoid spelling errors, page references must be given in brackets. Assessment: Your presentations will be assessed with reference to three criteria: 1. Presentation skills: have you addressed your audience? Did you interact with your presentation partner adequately to give a unified presentation? 2. Content: did your presentation deal with the topic adequately? Did you support your argument with good textual examples? 3. Slideshow: is your slideshow a useful research tool for you and your fellow students? Are the slides well-structured and clear? Did you provide good quotations? Are the key points on each slide conceptually and visually clear? Did you provide a title and concluding slide and a bibliography?
