Subject: Caribbean ICT Ministers’ Forum on Leveraging ICT for Development in the Caribbean,
Port-of-Spain, 7-8 August 2013
Dear Sir/Madam,
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with the Caribbean Telecommunications
Union (CTU) is pleased to invite you to a Regional Ministerial Meeting on Caribbean ICT Ministers’ Forum on Leveraging ICT for Development in the Caribbean to be held from 7-8 August 2013 at the Hyatt Regency,
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
Following this, on 9 August, an additional day’s programme and special event is being hosted by the CTU.
This stakeholder meeting is targeted at Ministers responsible for telecommunications/ICT, senior
Government officials, and regional organizations. The meeting will examine the state of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the Caribbean and exchange views on current opportunities and challenges. Against that backdrop, the event will review the progress made in implementing the ITU-EC project on the “ Support for the establishment of Harmonized Policies for the ICT Market in the ACP” .
Drawing lessons from the implementation of this project, the meeting will then map strategies for the establishment of a new project and potential funding possibilities.
I am pleased to note that limited full fellowships will be available to support prospective participants for their travel and stay in Trinidad. Detailed information on fellowship application as well as practical information is provided in the link below. The deadline for fellowship application is 12 July 2013. http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-D/Projects/ITU-EC-ACP/HIPCAR/Pages/default.aspx
