INTRODUCTION

Introduction

This teaching resource is an updated version of the booklet The Media/Na

Meadhanan , which was first published by the SCCC in 1998.

Whilst the basic format of the document remains unchanged, many of the passages in the first publication have been eith er modified or replaced in order to reflect changes in technology or popular taste. Students are offered a range of opportunities to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and as preparation for the unit and course assessments at

Intermediate 2 level.

As this resource is offered to presenting authorities in electronic form, teachers are at liberty to simplify texts or provide extension materials and grammar exercises to meet the linguistic needs of their own particular students. The media theme is an ever-changing one and updated materials have been added, especially in the sections about films/ DVDs and ICT.
