Revised September 28, 2012 SLO Assessment Progress: In a sentence or two, describe where your department should be on the Revolving Wheel of Assessment (what assessment you should have done in the last year) and what was actually done. If you’re not sure where you should be on the Revolving Wheel contact the SLO Coordinator (x6366). If any task was not completed, explain why. The Art History Program experienced a full complement of instructors at the Flex day SLO meeting for the second year in a row, including one contract and five adjuncts. We assessed five courses in the spring term of 2013 in Core Competency Global Awareness, and will be adding three courses in the fall term. The Flex day SLO meeting in August was attended by four adjunct faculty but the contract faculty member was absent due to surgery. An online meeting took place on September 15. Half of our faculty took part. AH 16, Southeast Asian Art, has not been assessed recently due to loss of the only qualified instructor in the field. We expect to teach the course in the Spring term 2015 in an online offering and hope to assess it when it is offered. One new course has been written in Fall 2013, Honors Renaissance Art. It will need to be approved first by the curriculum committee and then receive approval by the UCLA Honors Program. This process will take two years. Fill out the Assessment Results section below.
