C Materials List Please bring the following materials for acrylic painting: Paint • • • • • • • • Titanium White, large tube Mars, Lamp, or Carbon Black Ultramarine Blue Yellow Ochre Cadmium Yellow Medium or Cadmium Yellow Hue or Hansa Yellow Medium Cadmium Red Light or Cadmium Yellow Hue or Napthol Red Light Alizarin Crimson Hue or Permanent Rose Other colors that may be useful: Phthalo Green, Prussian Blue, Sap Green Brushes A variety of brushes, at least three, synthetic or bristle, not too small---at least one round, one flat, one filbert, Painting knives- metal knives work best Palette A flat surface for mixing paint Disposable palette paper works well Canvases, Panels, or Paper 4-6 supports of similar size, good sizes are 11” x 14” and 16” x 20” Heavy Paper such as Bristol, vellum surface, may be used instead of canvas or panel Other Items • Rags • Spray bottle for wetting your palette • Acrylic medium • Quart-size or larger container for rinsing brushes • Apron or smock to protect clothing • Latex or nitrile gloves • Painter’s or artist’s tape if you are using paper References You will need your own references to work from. Bring 5-10 images-- printed from your computer or photocopies, approximately 8-1/2” x 11”. Images from magazines, books, newspapers, or the Internet work well. You may also work from your personal sketches or personal photos. Images must be printed. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO WORK FROM IMAGES IN YOUR PHONE.
