Special Items A. Engineering Study Abroad Info. / Action D. Constantino 28 Minute This item is up for discussion / possible action regarding the approval of $15,000.00 from the Programs Account to help fund the engineering department wishing to have several of their students study abroad. Diane, from the Cabrillo Engineering department, presented a proposal for opening a study abroad program and why this idea is worth the funding. Engineers build and design anything not natural. Twelve to fifteen percent of all transfer students are engineering majors with five percent (5%) of those students transferring to private engineering universities. It would behoove the school to recognize the importance of offering more resources to these students than otherwise would not find in a small town environment. This program would enable the environment to students by introducing them to energy usage and systems more diverse than their familiar with. Darwin moves to extend time by five (5) minutes.
