The Senate needs to send 1 – 2 senators to table for Alert-U. Tabling will be done in front of the Admissions Building in the Quad area. Informational handouts and Alert-U Banner will help bring awareness to the Alert-U program. Tabling can be done throughout Monday – Thursday. Executive Officers President: Charlotte Achen – The Senate did a wonderful job with the SAC Event. I heard there was a large turn out. In terms of Senate Grade Eligibility, Flor has told us that this is the first time that a Senate has not had a senator removed because of unsatisfactory grades. So, congratulations to this Senate. Vice President: Laura Hunerberg – I would like to recognize and congratulate Abby, Tana, Aimee and everyone else that participated with the SAC Event. I heard nothing but great things, and being that this is the first time in Cabrillo history that a talent show was held, the success is something to celebrate and recognize. Also, remember to petition for graduation, the deadline is next week. Treasurer: Darwin Constantino Legislative Representative: Aimée Cornett – I want to appreciate and thank the SAC Event Committee for their organization and success of putting on a great event. We hope that this will be an annual event. Student Trustee: Cedar Green - Remember that the deadline for senate applications is next week, so we should encourage our peers to apply. Inter-Club Council Chair: Devin Monahan – The ICC met yesterday, and 2 new clubs have chartered. Basically the entire meeting we discussed Bylaws and Parlimentary procedures. The SAC Event was a huge success and everything went well because the strong teamwork and commitment you all have for each other. On another note, the popcorn machine in the storage room needs to be moved. I’m proposing to move the machine out to the club room, so that clubs can use the machine. The popcorn machine is taking up to much space in the storage room, so it needs to be moved. Let me know if anyone has a better idea. Also, elections are coming up so let’s prepare for that. The Senate could focus more on elections since they are coming up. Executive officers should encourage more people to get involved. Taking stacks of senate handouts to classrooms will help students know about elections. In terms of the popcorn machine some standards and discussion needs to be done. For example, were would supplies be kept, and how would they be given to students. Also, how will accountability and maintenance be provided for the popcorn machine. D. Assigning and Updates of Mentors Laurence and Carter met on Tuesday. The meeting went well. They reviewed binder information such as Parlimentary Procedures and Brown Act. The program has been very successful and effective. The program builds strong communication and reliability amongst one another because it helps individuals be heard and engaged. Senators wont feel left out and I notice the impact and in terms of unity, so kudos to the Senate for establishing a great program.
