Materials Payments and Storage
- Revision to Subsection 109.06 of the 2007 Standard Specifications for
Road and Bridge Construction.
Subsection 109.06 of the 2007 Standard Specifications has been revised to eliminate payment for
materials, including storage costs, if such payment is $25,000 or less. It is expected that this change will
result in significant time saving for the Department field personnel.
The following revision has been incorporated into the Standard Input SI2007 as of June 20,
2014.
SECTION 109 – MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
109.06 MATERIALS PAYMENTS AND STORAGE
THE TEXT BEFORE THE LIST UNDER THE FIRST PARAGRAPH IS CHANGED TO:
The Contractor may request payment for the cost of materials, including the storage cost, not incorporated into the Work.
If approved by the RE, the Department will make payment for the cost of materials, including storage costs if such
payment exceeds $25,000; however, the amount of payment may not exceed 85 percent of the bid price for the
associated Item. The Department will not make payment for such materials until the RE is satisfied that:

Changes must be implemented in all applicable Department projects scheduled for Final Design Submission
at least one month after the date of the BDC announcement. This will allow designers to make necessary plan,
specifications, and estimate/proposal changes without requiring the need for an addenda or postponement of
advertisement or receipt of bids.
