He reported verbally on the outcome of the Arab Regional meeting held on 25 November 2014 in
Kuwait City. He said that, on behalf of the regional group, he would be providing a Development
Action Plan concerning Environment and Climate Change based on the resolutions and outcomes of
WTSA-12, PP-14 and WTDC-14 Conferences. This would be aimed at satisfying needs of
developing countries and would be presented to the SG5 plenary meeting of SG5.

It is considered by the chairmen that the meeting has met its objectives.

To co-ordinate activity on ICT & CC across ITU-T Study Groups, ITU-R and ITU-D and to
seek co-operation from external bodies working in the field of ICT & CC

Reduce unnecessary duplication and pool resources to accelerate work in the area of
ICT&CC standards.
The main achievements were:

Acting as an independent interest group hosted by ITU-T with free participation for
members and non-members to encourage a free exchange of information

Identification of organisations sharing same interests and a contact person to act as a
communication channel

Presentations from interested groups to provide an overview of their activities

Act as a springboard for closer cooperation between groups’ activities: for example, on
agreeing a common methodology.
5 Support
We are grateful to TSB for the support given to this activity. This included facilities for e-meetings
and additional coordination as a follow up to the JCA. We would like to thank Ms Bueti for
promoting the green ICT symposia and the time and enthusiasm she puts into running ICT and CC
activities.
