Why me?
Hi, I am Aashriya Jain, a first year student
studying BSc Management and am running
for the post of Project Leader Support
Officer. Volunteering has always been a
part of me; not only as a member of
Warwick Volunteers since I joined
university, but also back home. On behalf of
the Indian Red Cross Society, I led a drive to
raise funds for Red Cross parcels, which
consists of basic necessities needed for
survival.
My Ideas:
 To create an environment in which the process of
volunteering is made fun, fulfilling and accessible to all
members of the society.
 Encourage and motivate more people to join WV and actively
engage themselves in various on going projects.
 Respond and listen patiently to the various goals and aims of
the volunteer learners.
 Plan and participate in socials for the WV team.
 Stay connected with all the project leaders at all times and be
ready to cater to any queries they may have.
 Improve WV with new ideas and work together as an entire
network.
As an active
participant of two
projects at Warwick
Volunteers, namely
fun with numbers and
crafts in hospital, I
have honed my
communication skills.
I have had the
opportunity to look at
the problems at a
grass root level and
thus feel confident
about handling
challenging situations.
As the majority of my
past experience has
involved initiating
projects, I feel I have
enhanced my
organizational and
leadership skills.
Furthermore, being
one of the organizers
of the largest charity
event in my district, I
have witnessed all
that goes on in the
planning and smooth
execution of an event.
