JOB ROLE:
The Student Progression Ambassadors programme is a widening participation (WP) scheme
run by The University of Warwick which seeks to provide information and advice to young
people from Coventry and Warwickshire, who have the ability to progress to Higher Education
but face potential barriers.
The aim of the Student Progression Ambassador scheme is to establish University Students
as positive role models for young people from a WP background. In regular and sustained
sessions the Ambassadors will conduct activities (within the parameters of the Ambassadors’
personal knowledge and training) that help raise the knowledge and aspirations of learners in
relation to educational progression.
The Student Progression Ambassadors will be matched to a group of 8 learners from a
school or college in Coventry or Warwickshire. The Ambassadors will meet with the learners
at their respective school or college and run activities/sessions that reflect the needs of the
group and the school.
It is extremely desirable for a Student Progression Ambassador to be able to empathise with
learners they are matched with. The role would therefore particularly suit those who
