The CAA builds links between commercial practice, academic research, and local communities, encouraging research and innovation in professional archaeological practice. We help with the management and interpretation of historic sites and landscapes – with a focus on training and capacity-building projects. Our Expertise The CAA is a research centre within University College London, where we benefit from being at the forefront of research, teaching and practice in conservation, cultural heritage policy, cultural resource management, public archaeology, and educational outreach. We also have a professional contracts division with over forty staff: Archaeology South-East. ASE offers specialist skills in archaeological project management, survey, excavation, materials analysis, historic buildings research and recording, and environmental impact assessment.
