This should be sorted before the news story with links to the pages goes up. Undergraduate researches are to meet with Lisa Lavender to learn the database specifics and to begin putting up links etc. Research Progress Continuing to listen to the Medd life story archival sound recordings. Laura M identified a potentially useful book (in the library) by Andrew Saint to add to the bibliography (which should be annotated) and also key government figures/department involved with school class room design. A study carried out by Newcastle University 2005 is something for Laura M to look into over the summer. The Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) which has a Higher Education Design Quality Client Forum (HEDQF) – may provide possible case studies and contacts. MJP Architects identified who have been involved with Warwick’s Learning Grid, Main Library and the BioMed Grid and the current redevelopment. We will consider the possibility of interviewing MJP Architects- broader trends of university design. Research methods Indentify and read core texts on oral history from the bibliography and also Sociology and History course materials. MRC Working with the centre to identify useful sources/ archives and hoping to look at photographs of teaching spaces and obtain copies of these and the university’s prospectuses before the summer. The prospectuses could become a self-contained project. Conferences Resolution HEDQF Exhibition 03 - 26 September 2009, Gallery 2, RIBA, Mon-Sat 10.0017.00 except Tues 10.00- 21.00. The British Architectural Library is housed in the building- visit? 4th-6th December University of Sheffield: History of Education Society Annual Conference; ‘Space, Place and Materialities of Education. Action Undergraduate researchers to: Contact Andrew Saint and discuss the possibility of interviewing him soon and also think of questions to ask him. Consider carrying out two interviews with him, the first being fairly broad. Contact Cecily Jones regarding the project. Research the History of Education Conference.
