Notes from meeting 20 January 2010
1. Review of what we have done to date. What ‘data’ do we have and
how is the story or stories shaping up?
We have notes and transcripts from interviews
Archive materials, including photographs
The analysis we have done for Sheffield conference
Themes/ literature and data shaping into
- Architecture/ buildings/ history of universities
- Educational space discussions
- Politics including staff/student role and relations/protests and
intervention in the landscape/ shaping of knowledge through buildings
and construction.
2. Hours of work - how is everyone's 7 hours/week looking/feeling? Are
people behind or doing too much, and how can we level this out in the
remainder of the project?
There will be some shifts this term. Hannah to go down to 5 hours when
ready (Hannah to advise Sumila). Laura E a bit behind but OK to make it
up before the end of the project. We will continue to review this and
discuss it if it becomes a concern for anyone at any time.
3. Priorities for individual and collective work this term: agree tasks and
time-frames for interviews, analysis and reading – see below
4. Database
LE and HL reported some problems with using the database. We are due
to met with Lisa Lavender to discuss it son (possible date now Feb 18th). In
the meantime, don’t let these problems get in way of using it. If struggle to
upload then write up notes, links etc in word and sent to Cath who will get
it on db.
5. Forthcoming events: Space Symposium at Warwick (29 March 2010);
HEA
conference in Oxford (23-25 March 2010); our final exhibit
ALL can make the Space symposium and we agreed the most appropriate
thing to have a trial, mini version of our exhibit in the research exhibition.
Laura, Laura and Hannah all OK to go to Oxford for the History HEA
conference and will liaise with Lisa (Laura M to coordinate).
6. The final exhibit - what/when/where ...
