Status of 2010 SC assigned Task Orders: none-assigned
 Combined Fire Use and Fuels Working Team with the National Fire Plan Working
Group
 Finalized charter and working team membership
 Completed briefing paper describing each agency’s involvement with the grants
program
Goal - to better identify priority locations for future grants and fuels reduction/land
management projects using a collaborative, multi-level interagency approach.
POW for 2011:
 Review and track status of national, regional and local efforts to assess wildfire risk to
be used in developing Federal and NFP grants priorities.
 Work with GIS working team to finalize map product that inventories past Federal and
NFP grant fuels projects from 2005 to present.
 Work with Prevention, Communications and Investigations Working Team to create
information for public dissemination on fuels treatments, accomplishments and success
stories.
 FY11 grant process review with AAR.
Status WT website: Fully functional and up to date
The most significant barrier to the WT/AC accomplishing its mission is:
 Personnel time commitments
 Balancing departmental priorities with regional and local priorities
What the Fuels Management Working Team needs most from the Steering Committee:
 Input and leadership perspective on ongoing national, regional and local efforts to
assess wildfire risk (Cohesive Strategy, EMDS/HFPAS, West-wide Risk Assessment,
State Risk Assessments, etc.)
