CSIR-CBRI, a constituent establishment of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, New Delhi wishes to
recruit Research Interns (as temporary manpower) for a period of two years from Indian Nationals under CSIR’s
New HRD Initiative – The “CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards” Scheme as per details given
below. The Research Internship is meant to be a preparatory phase for young interns in imbibing the sprit of
Enquiry and Learning the Tools and Techniques of Research through participation and doing.

Age : 25 years (as on date of Interview) which is relaxable upto 05 years in the case of SC/ST/OBC/
Physically Handicapped and Female Candidates.

Stipend : Fixed as indicated above. No other allowances are payable.
Tenure : Maximum two years, not extendable under any circumstances, performance of Intern will be evaluated after
every six months, if his / her performance is not found satisfactory, his / her internship will be terminated without
assigning any reason after giving one month notice or one month stipend inlieu thereof. The interns shall have no
claim for further extension, absorption or regularization in CSIR after expiry / termination of the internship.
Procedure of Selection : Interested candidates may appear for Walk-in-Interview before the Selection Committee at
CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee on the date and time as mentioned above along with original documents and six copies of
bio-data (One copy of bio-data duly affixed with a latest passport size photograph and supported by self-attested
photocopies of certificates, mark sheets and other relevant documents) giving following information on one side of
A-4 size paper. Candidates reaching the venue after Scheduled time for Registration will not be allowed to appear
before the Selection Committee for interview under any circumstances.
General Conditions : Those who have already availed 2 years research internship will not be considered. Interns would
be free to appear for NET / GET and secure regular fellowships for doing Ph.D. The award of Internship does not confer
any right, explicitly or implicitly for regular absorption in the Institute / CSIR and does not imply any assurance or
guarantee for subsequent employment by CSIR or at CBRI, Roorkee. If an intern is reported to have been lacking in
his or her research assignment or commits misconduct, the Award is liable to be terminated. No TA will be
paid for appearing in the interview. Director, CSIR-CBRI reserves the right not to fill-up these positions or any one
amongst them, if he so decides. A candidate who claims to belong to OBC, must submit in support of his / her
claim, an attested copy of the Certificate for Current year in the prescribed form meant for Central Government
to the effect that he /she does not belong to Creamy layer. Physically handicapped candidate must submit a
Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority specifying that he / she has been suffering from not less than
Forty percent of relevant disability. Candidates may take their interview in Hindi or in English as he / she wishes.
