Xavier University of January 2016 Louisiana Student Financial Aid Newsletter Questions of the Month A. Financial Aid Awards Offered Have you been awarded federal grant and/or federal loans or work-study)? Did you Accept or Decline the award? Do you need money to assist with your assessment fee bill? Students should check their Banner Web to see if there are financial aid awards that have not been accepted. If so, accept the award on Banner Web and read all details. Also, if you do not want the financial aid that has been awarded, you should decline it. **Note: If you were offered a Parent Plus loan, the Department of Education requires the parent to complete a credit check for approval to receive the awarded amount. However, if the credit check is denied, the parent should read the details regarding obtaining a co-endorser. If the parent and co -endorser are not approved, the student may inquire about additional funding, which will be less than the PLUS offer amount, through the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Program by submitting a Non Co-Endorser Form to the Office of Financial Aid. Click the following link: Non Co-Endorser Form For more details, please contact your financial aid counselor. B. Did you receive a federal student loan for 2015-2016 and your award has not disbursed to your account? Students should complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and the Entrance Counseling at www.studentloans.gov. WELCOME BACK!!!
