Call to Order • Meeting was called to order at 11:04 AM in the MBB 6000-level lounge. 2. Appointment of the Chair • MOVED to appoint Michael Jones as Chair for this meeting. Reimbursements • MOVED that the Chemistry Graduate Association reimburse Hope Fan $150 from Core Funding for the cost of booking Terry Fox Field for the Annual Soccer Social on Friday August 2, 2013. Annual Soccer Social and BBQ – Friday August 2, 2013 • The Terry Fox Field is booked from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The BBQ will start at 5:30 pm in order to have some food prepared before the end of the game. Suppes (TSSU Rep) and Ashley will set up the BBQ, and Jones, Fan, and Lin will also help BBQ after the soccer game. • The table below summarizes items that need to be purchased and the approximate costs if known. Suppes (TSSU rep) will check our BBQ to see if propane is needed, and Kinkead (DGSC Rep) will check the 4D labs propane tank. Wilson (GSS Rep/Grad Info Coordinator) will purchase propane. Her estimated expenses will be approximately $400. MOVED to task Michael Jones with purchasing the ciders and coolers for the Annual Soccer Social and BBQ. Moved by: Alisa Paterson Seconded by: Danielle Wilson MOTION CARRIED. Cekic (Social Coordinator) has a meeting with Peg Johnson for the special occasion license on Friday. The Caucus has ordered a 50 L keg of Garibaldi Honey Pale Ale and a 20 L Keg of King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen. Approximate alcohol costs are expected to be around $330. The department may supply wine. 7. Fundraising/Debt • As the lab coats purchased by the Caucus with the cuffs may not be mandatory for students in the fall, the Caucus will sell the lab coat inventory we currently have, and will not purchase any additional lab coats. • Suppes (TSSU Rep) will look into ordering the cheaper safety glasses this week. • MOVED that the Chemistry Graduate Association pay the Chemistry department $2000 towards our debt. Jones (President) will email Yolanda to discuss paying the department. • Rachel Ashley proposed creating an inventory and sales coordinator position in the future. 8.
