TIPS ON SECURING A HOST FOR AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP/JOB SHADOW OBSERVATION
If you have not yet located a host, below are some suggestions to help guide your efforts:
• Research the UConn Health website in your area of interest. Contact information can be located
through the UConn Health Directory. Use the search field located at the right top corner of the
page.
• Work with your school or university. They may already have a list of known preceptors/hosts.
• Network. Ask friends and family, current and former classmates and teachers, your physician or
dentist’s office and other professional contacts for suggested names.
