OFFICE OF BUSINESS AFFAIRS MEMORANDUM No. FY14-31
Distributed via Campus Email
To:
PVAMU University Faculty & Staff
From:
Corey S. Bradford
Senior Vice President for Business Affairs
Re:
Software Client Installation
In an effort to ensure compliance with Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 202 System
policies and University Administrative procedures, it is critical that the University maintain
an accurate and comprehensive list of personal computers (PCs), laptops, Apple MACS
and IPADs hardware and software. The University through the Information Technology
Services (ITS) department will be installing Dell’s KACE client for hardware, software
inventory and patch management on all Windows based PCs and laptops and the
Casper client for hardware, software inventory and patch management for Apple
MAC’s desktop, laptops and IPADs.
By implementing these tools throughout the University, it will improve information
technology governance. This initiative will ensure the University is compliant with laws,
rules, and regulations. In addition, the University will be in a better position to provide a
more consistent and effective technology experience to students, faculty and staff.
Please contact our Information Technology Office at x-9300 if you have any questions
or if additional information is required.
