Cameron partners with Redlands to offer
criminal justice program
Students in the Oklahoma City area will soon be able to pursue a Cameron University bachelor’s degree in
Criminal Justice at Redlands Community College (RCC) in El Reno. In an agreement signed by the
presidents of both universities, the “CU at RCC Criminal Justice Program” will make Cameron’s Criminal
Justice program available to students on the RCC campus beginning in the Fall 2008 semester.
“We are excited to offer Cameron’s Bachelor of Science degree with a Criminal Justice major at Redlands
Community College,” said CU President Cindy Ross. “This program will provide students and criminal
justice professionals in the Oklahoma City area with an opportunity to obtain their degree in Criminal
Justice from Cameron in a streamlined format suited to their professional obligations.”
The program builds on relationships built by RCC educators and Oklahoma City criminal justice
professionals, addressing the need for an applied, practitioner-friendly bachelor’s degree program in the
Oklahoma City area.
“We are very excited about this new partnership with Cameron University, as it will provide yet another
opportunity for our students to complete a bachelor’s degree, after completing an associate’s degree,
without having to leave the area,” said Larry F. Devane, Ph.D., Redlands Community College President.
“The articulation agreement’s pre-set curriculum allows students to see and know exactly what courses
they need to complete and when they need to complete them, which is a great benefit.”

The partnership will enhance the transition between the RCC Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)
Criminal Justice degree program and the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program at Cameron. In
addition, the “fast track” nature of the program will allow working professionals to complete the program in a
timely manner. Classes will be available onsite, online and through interactive television in a variety of
scheduling formats.
Students with a degree in Criminal Justice pursue a variety of jobs in areas such as criminology, sociology,
political science, psychology, social work, and other liberal arts and human services disciplines.
Employment possibilities within traditional police, courts, and corrections areas are being expanded with
opportunities in private business enhancing the opportunities available to graduates.
